Resources for engineers

Does anyone have any good resources for engineers to learn more about design and design fundamentals. I’m currently working on a hobby app and using twitter bootstrap but would like to understand design from a more fundamental level. I don’t expect to become a great designer without putting in a good amount of effort but enough to be dangerous would be awesome.

Edit: I found a google IO video from 2012 which gives an intersting high level intro to some design concepts: Google I/O 2012 - Advanced Design for Engineers

You could try http://bootstrappingdesign.com

There’s also some design-related Learn trails on Typography and Visual Principles

Andrew, we have a workshop as part of Learn, Design for Developers, you should check that out!
